Rules and Regulations
Contest period
This contest commences August 15th, 2006 and ends on October 31,
2006. ("the contest period"). The winner will be announced
in our November/December Newsletters.
How to enter
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. There are two ways to enter. You can visit
our Contest Page,
complete the Application Form, and cut and paste your story into
the appropriate box. You can also enter by submitting your success
story, not to exceed 500 words on a Word document page, and the
Application Form to institutions@lexicontraining.com
with the subject heading of Success Story Contest. You may also
bypass the use of the Application Form by including all the information
on the Word document you submit with your story. Application Form
information will not count towards the 500 word limit. On the Word
document page, be sure to include your name and the name of your
institution. On the Application form, fill in the required fields
with your name, title, institution name, e-mail address, telephone
number, and physical address of your institution. To be eligible,
entries must be received during the contest period. Limit of one
entry per full-time library, school, and community or faith-based
organization, during the contest period.
2. All entries become the property of Lexicon Training Services,
LLC ("LTS"). LTS assumes no responsibility for any lost,
late, damaged, destroyed, misidentified, illegible, misdirected
entries or unavailable network, failed or incorrect communications
caused by the sender or the equipment or programming or for any
other such problems occurring in connection with participation of
this contest.
Who can enter
This contest is open to all residents of the United States of America
who have reached the age of legal adulthood in their territory by
the start of the contest period and are a full-time employee of
any library, school, faith-based organization, non-profit, or US
government agency within the continental United States, which carries
Lexicon Training Services products. All other persons are not eligible.
The prize
There will be a maximum of 3 winners, selected from entries received
during the contest period. A minimum of 1 winner will be rewarded
a full set (12-Volume) of Inglés sin Barreras, a full set
(7-volume) of Computación sin Barreras, and one full set
(13-Volumes) Disney's World of English, and the Citizenship course
for their library and a $250 gift card from Barnes and Noble for
the author. Retail value of the prizes is $5,597.00. The prize must
be accepted as awarded and is non-transferable or convertible to
cash.
Contest draw
Each Entry will be "blind judged", meaning that the name
and location of the entrant will be hidden from the judges. The
judges, comprised of LTS staff, will review the essay received within
the Judging Period (November 01, 2006 to November 30th, 2006) to
determine which best shows clarity, creativity, and an interesting
and entertaining style for period of the contest. Each success story
submitted will be reviewed by LTS during the month of November 2006.
Each success story will contend to be chosen as one of the top 3
stories out of all entries received during the previous months.
A minimum of 1 story will be selected as a winning entry and posted
on the November/December issue of the LTS newsletter From the Stacks
and Shelf Life. Winner(s) will be notified via e-mail. The chances
of being selected depend upon the total number of eligible entries
received.
Prize Notification
In order to win, the selected entrant must correctly fill out the
Application Form, meet the requirements, and submit the success
story within the contest period. If a selected entrant cannot be
contacted in a timely fashion or if, for any reason, the prize cannot
be awarded; another contest entry will be selected and so on, until
the prize has been awarded. Arrangements will be made for winner
to receive the prize via FedEx shipping within 15 days of announcement.
By entering this contest, entrants agree to fully abide by the contest
rules and regulations and the decisions of LTS, which are final.
Privacy policy
LTS will use the contact information provided in contest entries
for administration of this contest. LTS may retain and use this
information for any future marketing of its products and services
to you. By entering this contest, you specifically consent to such
use. If you do not wish your information to be used for this purpose,

General information
If for any reason the contest is not capable of running as planned,
including corruption, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud
or any other cause beyond the control of LTS which, in the opinion
of LTS, affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity
or proper conduct of this contest, LTS reserves the right to withdraw,
terminate or modify all or any part of this contest by publishing
a notice on www.lexicontraining.com and on one of its newsletters.
This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and
municipal laws. Contest not available to residents outside of the
United States.
Entries or acts that do not comply with these Official Rules will
be void and may result in the entrant's ineligibility to participate
in this Contest. Sponsor and Affiliates reserve the right, in their
sole discretion, to modify, terminate, or suspend this Contest should
viruses, bugs, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond
the control of Sponsor or Affiliates corrupt or impair the administration,
security or fairness of the Contest. In such event, Sponsor and
Affiliates may select the winning Entries based on the criteria
set forth above, from the pool of all eligible Entries received.
Sponsor and Affiliates may disqualify any entrant who attempts to
tamper with the operation or integrity of this Contest or the Site,
and to seek appropriate criminal and civil penalties against such
person(s). Sponsor and Affiliates and their respective agencies,
affiliates and employees are not responsible for any human error
that may occur in the processing of the Entries, nor are they responsible
for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in
operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or
destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, Entries,
whether caused by the sender or any of the equipment or programming
associated with or utilized in this Contest. These Official Rules
shall be governed by and construed in accordance with laws of the
State of California, without giving effect to the conflict of law
rules of that State.
Criteria
The main criterion will be the success of the patron, but writing
flair may also be considered. Applicants will be reviewed and judged
by LTS staff. By applying, applicants consent to the right of Lexicon
Training Services, LLC to feature the story in marketing materials.
Winners will be interviewed for our newsletters. One entry per full-time
employee.
